I've also got some other projects to share with you.

In the spirit of "back to school" I created this bulletin board for use in a locker.  Aren't the elements from Wm Squared's School Days kit so perfect for this?

I went on a binge of making some really cute gift bags.  With a Disney flare!

This layout is my hubby and I enjoying lunch at the Crystal Palace in Walt Disney World.  I've been a Pooh fan forever, so it was an awesome treat to have lunch with Pooh and Friends!

Would you believe that this is a totally digital card???  Yep - designed it using the kit Drift Away by Graham Like the Cracker and Becca and a template by LuAnn for the ScrapMatters It's In The Cards Challenge on 8/26/10.

'Nough inspiration for one day?  :-)

Time to Pack the Backpack

Is it back to school time where you are?  It is here.  I am having a really hard time with this.  Especially this year.  I was unfortunate to be laid off this summer, but fortunate to be able to have that time with my kids.  Priceless to say the least! But it really made the summer fly by even faster than usual.

Today is back to school day for my youngest. He is starting at the middle school. The baby of my babies.... WHAT??? When did he grow up so much?!! This morning before he walked to the bus, I forced him into allowing me to take the obligatory "First Day of School" photo.  It made me realize that I take these photos every year, but I don't get them scrapped. Shame on me!

So I made this cute little mini album to put all those "First Days" photos in.  I used the template by Krisi's Kreations called Back Pack Template Junior and I altered it.  The template makes a really awesome bag, I simply left off the sides so I could turn it into a mini album.

Here is a peak on the inside:

And check out how cute the back of this little back pack is:

Tomorrow is the first day back for my older two. So I'll be out there bright and early taking photos again tomorrow!

If it is back to school time for you... I wish you luck in getting all the forms filled out, seriously I think in the first week of school (at least) the parents have more homework than the students!

New "Beach" template

Pammy invited the Contributing Artists over at Ideas for Scrapbookers to use a new template she designed.  She designed it when she was working on scrapping some of her beach vacation photos.  The template is awesome!  Pam had an area for the title that cut away the papers behind.... check out her layout and see how she has the word "BEACH" done.

Cute isn't it?  So of course I just had to give it a try! But I decided to change it up a bit.  Instead of using the word BEACH, I used COAST and scrapped some photos of the roller coaster rides we've been on.  Here is my take on the template using the brand new kit Vintage Carnival by Jenn Barrette and Sahlin Studios (you can get it over at Scrapmatters!).

See that picture in the bottom right corner?  That's my oldest son Christopher about to try Rock n' Roller Coaster for the first time.  Yep, he was a little intimidated when he saw the cars in front of us take off!  He ended up loving the ride!

Want to get your hands on a copy of the template?  You can!  Right here!
Download Pam's PSD version HERE
Grab the .jpg version with photo blocks HERE

Before you head off to create using this great template, check out what the other Contributing Artists did at Ideas for Scrapbookers.  And..... if you do create with this template, be sure to share it with us.  We love to see what you make and Pam will even feature it in an upcoming post!

Happy Scrapping!

Stinker

Hi there again!  I've been busy lately. Making the most of these long summer days to get some extra creative time in!

Today I have a card to share with you.
Isn't that the cutest skunk you've ever seen?  Soon as I saw it, I fell in love.  This little critter is part of the In the Woods collection at Nitwit Collections.  There is also a coordinating alpha available called Wild Talk.  I used that to create the "Lil Stinker"

Ok, I'm off to do some more creating!

She Sells Sea Shells

This summer we were lucky to have a wonderful family vacation at the beach. We had various extended family coming and going throughout the week. There were close to 30 of us "down the shore" over the week.

The kids all helped me collect some shells knowing that I would end up using them in some creative way.  I really wanted to make something that gave me that relaxed, happy feeling that we get the instant we smell the salt air, hear the waves and feel the sand between our toes.  Of all the photos that were taken, there was one picture of my cousins son and one of my boys that epitomized "chill-axing".  So of course I had to use that photo.

Looking at one of the shells gave me the idea to create a scene in the shell.  I used several digital scrapbooking kits. Sail Away by Erica Zane, Drift Away by Graham Like the Cracker, Ohana by Britt-sh Designs, Coastal Getaway, Sea Sand Sun (design team collabs) (all from Scrapmatters).

I also used shells and sand that I collected. Yes, sand.  I made a paste with the sand, craft glue and Diamond Glaze and spread that over the "beach" that I created.  Stickles and Smooch helped accent the waves.  I hot glued 2 glass pieces (the ones you can use to decorate a hurricane candle) under the shell to keep it steady.

This photo gives a better look at the sandy beach that I created.

Now I can keep this on my desk and feel like I'm "chill-axing" at the beach anytime!

Here is a digital scrap page that I made with some photos from this vacation as well.

I have quite a few more photos to work with from our vacation. Look for more beach themed projects coming from me soon!
