Happy Thanksgiving!

Early this morning I was up at my craft table finishing up a hybrid project. It was a wonderful way to get the holiday started! I was finishing up altering this box to display holiday greeting cards as they arrive.

The digital papers are Christmas Retrospect by Quirky Twerp. The box is a little wooden one that I picked up at the craft store.  I used Mod Podge Paper style to adhere the papers and Mod Podge hard coat to seal it.
I painted the trim red, then topped it with a deep cranberry ink and heat embossed glitter powder to add some bling.  The flowers, foliage and paper ornament are from Prima.

The card inside the box was made using a pre-made card also by Quirky Twerp. How easy is this?  All you have to do is add your photo!  I inked the edges too. Makes an elegant card in no time at all!

We are getting some snow here today. I hope that wherever you are, you are having a terrific day and if you are celebrating, I wish you a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving.

Christmas Time is Here

The radio stations are starting to play round the clock holiday music, the stores are all decorated, and have been for more than a month! The Black Friday ads have been sent out.

It's time to get your holiday cards ready. I've got 2 different Christmas greeting card designs available in my shop. You can purchase them individually or in sets of 10. They come with white envelopes. This link will take you to my card listings.

You may remember seeing this card with the glittery Christmas tree as a sample using my Treasured Christmas digital scrapbooking kit earlier this month.  I had so many compliments on the card that I've made it available in my shop. Click HERE.

This design is done in blue and white tones with the greeting "Oh Holy Night". The star shines for the 3 Wisemen as they travel to the baby Jesus.  You can find this card HERE.

I've listed the cards individually and as a set of 10. If you should need a different quantity, feel free to email me your request.

Black Friday

Have you started collecting all your Black Friday sale ads? Working up your shopping strategy?

Well if you are like me, you avoid all the shops on Black Friday. I prefer to do my shopping in my PJ's with a cup of coffee in hand. And here's a great place to get some special stuff for yourself or the crafter in your life. ScrapMatters is having an awesome Black Friday Sale and events! you won't want to miss!

 Happy Shopping!

Projects from this week

Nearly a week has gone by since I posted. Really?  Oh my.  Time sure is flying!!!  Well, how about you take a minute to sit and catch up with me?  Grab a cup of tea, or coffee and let's share.

It has been a busy week.  Not just with projects, but also with life in general.  One of our dogs, the puppy, had her spay surgery.  She has developed what the vet believes (and we hope) to be a seroma at the incision site. Basically a sack of fluid.  We are hoping that is what it is. The other thing it could be is a hernia. Although when it was aspirated, it appeared to just be fluidy.  It's not bothering Narnia at all. And we'll just have to wait and see if her body reabsorbs the fluid. In the mean time, we have to try to keep a happy active puppy a bit less active!  No small task!!

It's also college application time for my oldest son. We've been working really hard at getting those applications completed.  It's way more work now than it was when I went to college!  I know, that was a L-O-N-G time ago.... in a galaxy far, far away!!  LOL  Sorry, but we love Star Wars!

Anyway - the first response came back from one of the colleges. I'm really happy to report that he was accepted there! I'm so very proud of him. And it was one of his top 2 picks!!  Oh these next few months should be fun. Waiting on more responses, sorting through all the details and ultimately deciding where he will attend.

OK - enough about life in our house...........  here are the projects I've completed this week.
I've been busily creating some pendants both for custom orders and to stock the shelves at my shop.

If you are interested in any of these, you can find them HERE at my Etsy shop, or you can email me.

I made this card for my mother - an avid quilter and seamstress.
I used the Sew Crafty kit by Chelle's Creations and Erica Zane for that one. Mom loved it!

This layout was made using the brand new template pack and the Family Matters kit by WM[squared] Designs.

I just love those pics and those memories. It really was fun to watch the kids experience the non-theme park sides of Walt Disney World. Yes they were taken at Disney World, at the ranch. I can remember going there as a child when we camped at Fort Wilderness.  It's definitely worth the time to trek over there!

Are you still reading?  Wow!  Thanks!  This has turned into a really long post.  I'm also working on some holiday projects.....  I'm going to share those with you in another post.  You've probably already finished your cup of tea or coffee by now.

Thanks for spending some leisure time with me. How has your week been?

Are you having fun?  This is one really awesome hop.  I am so honored to be among all of the 40+ designers that have collaborated to bring you this huge, jam-packed holiday scrapbook kit.

If you started at the beginning, you will have arrived from Teresa's blog.  If you get lost along the way, you can always go to the start -Lisa's blog- for a full list of designers.

This has been an enormous undertaking. I 'd really like to thank everyone involved in helping to make this happen. First I want to thank Jessica Sprague and Carina Gardner for their wonderful insight, inspiration and encouragement. You ladies truly do rock the graphic digital design world!  Next I want to thank Lisa Williams who had a vision and shared it. Your spirit is contagious! I'd also like to thank Kelly Sill who wrapped her arms around this bundle of creative energy and channeled it into a manageable bouquet. A special thank you goes out to all the designers for coming together and making this happen. I'm so glad to be a part of this with all of you.

And last, but certainly not least, a BIG thank you goes out to all of you readers that are hopping along and enjoying this ride.  You're comments and encouragement keep the design mojo going!

The Center of Giving Thanks

Several years ago I created this wall hanging for Thanksgiving.  We hang it in the kitchen at the start of each November. The clip hold strips of paper (I use some of the scraps from my crafting for this). During the month of November we each write things that we are thankful for on one of the strips of paper and then slip it into the pocket.  We can do this daily or whenever the mood hits us.  Then on Thanksgiving day, we sit at the table and read the strips. It's fun to guess who the author of each strip is and it's great to share in the many blessings we have individually and as a family.  I save the strips each yea. I keep saying that I'm going to scrap them. Wouldn't they make great journal strips?  Yeah - hopefully I'll get a round to that ... soon!

This year I've created a new centerpiece for our Thanksgiving table. I've had the glass hurricane for a while, I thought I would dress it up.  My dad gave me a whole bunch of rolled corrugated cardboard.  I used that for the base. I then printed out some paper from the DigiChick collab kit Season of Thankfulness I gave it some shape using the Pillow Box Template by Kelleigh Ratzlaff.  The strip on top of that is also make from papers and word art in the Season of Thankfulness kit.  I punched the edge with a Fiskars edge punch.

I then clustered some hand made and Prima flowers along with some dried sprigs on top of some gems and a Prima butterfly.  Here are some more pictures so you can see it from other angles.
Oh and the candle is a wonderful aromatic cinnamon pecan candle. Yummy!

Pardon the wrinkles in my table cover, I didn't take the time to iron it, just wanted to cover the table to take the photos.  Hope you enjoy this project idea and have a wonderful weekend!
