Is it real? Or is it Memorex? And a Giveaway!!

Looking for the giveaway?? Read on - it's at the bottom of this post.

Remember those Memorex commercials?  They would compare the VHS taped version to the live version and ask "is it real or is it Memorex?"  Maybe I'm dating myself!!! hehehe!

Today I've got 2 versions of the same card design to share with you. Both are hybrid.  But one is a "digital printable" and the other is a "print, cut, and assemble."

Can you tell which is which?  The "digital printable" was designed in Photoshop and printed out.  The "print, cut, and assemble" was also designed in Photoshop, but the elements were printed separately, cut with my electronic die cutter, and glued together to create the final card.

I used a great template by Krisi's Kreations to make these cards.  I also used an alpha from the digital kit My History by WM Squared Designs, both are available at Scrap Orchard.

The Giveaway!!

If you've been following my blog, you know that I have been working really hard to spread Acts of Random Kindness (ARK's) during the month of January. You can see those posts under the category Acts of Kindness.  So to qualify for this giveaway, simply leave me a comment on this post with one Act of Kindness that you have done!  This will get you one entry to win. You can get up to 2 additional entries by following my blog (see side bar), and if you Like my Scrappycath Creations Facebook page. Leave a separate comment on this post for each of these items that you do! So that's up to 3 entries:
  1. a comment with your kindness act.
  2. a comment letting me know you are a new (or existing) follower of my blog
  3. a comment letting me know that you now/or previously Like my Facebook page

Leave your comment(s) by Saturday February 4 at 9pm EST. One lucky random person will receive a Kindness pack of crafty goodness (including these 2 cards) from me!!

At this time I am only able to ship to US addresses.

Be sure to check back on Sunday February 5 to find out if you are the winner!!

  1. They're both great cards. It is hard to tell which is which.
One Act of Kindness I have done is to send a birthday card to a neighbor of my aunt who is turning 80. My aunt wanted to shower her with cards for her special day.

  4. How wonderful to see these two cards together. I am guessing the card on the right is the print, cut and asseble card. Love how you have added the hint of red. Thanks for joining in at Unstampabelles.

  10. They are both perfect! It is hard to tell which is which but I think the first is the cut image based on the shadows on the I, heart, and U. It is so touching to read of your ARKs! I am now following to see more of your work! I try to do something each day to brighten someone elses day. This week we have volunteered to help another family out during the winter months! I don't want to go into any more detail due to their privacy but it feels good to help others in need! I am thankful for what we have each day and I would hope that someone would help us out if we found ourselves in the same situation! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at My Craft Spot this week!

  11. Cute card! I will have to try that! I think I have Martha Stewart stamps that look like that font!

Love your idea and "twist" on RAKS (random acts of Kindness) by calling them ARKS! LOL too cute!

I usually don't like talking about my ARKS don't wanna kill the blessings or anything...but I would LOVE to own some of your handmade art! So here goes... Well recently I had a friend approach me about someone I didn't know in the community struggling to pay their rent and were about to get evicted by the fire Marshall in like a week. So myself and some other friends rallied together and donated the money they needed to pay the rent and stay in their home! It felt good to be able to help someone that was truly in need!

  14. Great cards!! Thanks for joining the challenge over at Unstampabelles! And such a tough guess on which one is digital and which one is cut and paste!! I can't figure it out! LOL!

As for a RAK that I have done recently....last week I bought an extra pack of fabric covered buttons the nice checkout lady at JoAnns was looking at and gave them to her. She didn't know what to think...nobody had ever done something so random and nice like that to a stranger at checkout! So that made me happy seeing her smile! :)

  18. One act of kindness I did this past month is to empty my wallet and give all the money in it to a patient (I'm a nurse) I was caring for. She was leaving our hospital to go to another one for chemo. I knew she was broke and would need a little cash. I think it was only about $30, but it was enough to meet her needs that day.
