Teacher Affects Eternity

You can not believe how very true this statement is. One of my son's has special needs. He has had a teacher working with him for the past several years that this sentiment is perfect for. She truly has made an impact on not only his life, but on mine as well. She is a woman that definitely followed the right path in her career. I am so glad that she came into my son's life.  She has made a tremendous difference!

This is the last year that she would be working with my son. When I set out to make a card for her, it seemed like an insurmountable task. Until I saw this sentiment.  I can never thank her enough for her caring, compassionate style and grace.

This is one of those times when I'm glad to be a card maker. I don't think I would have ever found a store bought card that expressed what I feel.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to create this. The sentiment is actually a shape intended for cutting vinyl. I simply used it with the print and cut feature.  The papers that I used are from the Die Cuts With a View "Hittin' the Books" stack.

Summer Solstice Blog Hop

Hey there!  It's not only Friday, but it is the Summer Solstice. So several of the Artists at Ideas For Scrapbookers are celebrating with a blog hop!  If you've been hopping along, then you just came from Sarah's blog "Scattered Pictures and Memories". And guess what? You've found the end of the hop!!

Need to start from the beginning? No problem, just visit the Ideas For Scrapbookers blog and start from there.  These are all the wonderful artists that you will be visiting:

Cathy (that's me): scrappycath.blogspot.com

With summer starting today, we thought we would share some great summer projects. I wanted to do a page using pictures from an amazing summer trip that we took to Hawaii!!!  My life is beyond crazy right now.  So I am really short on time. Scrapbooking usually takes me a L-O-N-G time. I take forever to pick out papers, sketch out a design, and find just the right elements. I really needed some help to be able to put together a nice page, quickly!! I turned to my trusty Silhouette Cameo to help me out. I used a scrapbook page layout shape available in the Silhouette online store.

I was able to create this page in about 40 minutes!  What took me the longest? Picking out the photo that I wanted to use!! Actually creating the page took less than 30 minutes!

The papers that I used are from the Graphic 45 Tropical Travelogue collection. They were just perfect to go with this photo from our trip to Hawaii.

I hope you've had a great time hopping along. Each of the artists in this hop are very talented, inspiring individuals. I count myself lucky to have them as my friends. Please be sure to stop by each of their posts and leave them some love!

Happy Summer and Happy Creating!
