New Life for Old Sleds

So my hubby was cleaning out his mother's attic recently. He found these 2 old wooden sleds.  He knew I would find some crafty way to spruce them up. Gotta love that man for being so thoughtful!  Here are the before photos of the sleds:

For inspiration I spend a few minutes perusing Pinterest. I love snowmen, So I knew the frosty creatures would be involved somehow.  I also like to remember the focus of Christmas is Christ.  That was my inspiration for the other sled.

The snowman sled was completely hand painted by me.  I used some Glimmer Mist to give the red background a snowy look.  The photos don't really show it, but the snowmen sparkle! I added glitter to the final coat of pain as I finished them up.

The Joy sled got a few coats of paint. I cut the design using my Silhouette Cameo and some Oracal 651 vinyl.

I created the floral arrangements and bows for each and attached them. I added some sleigh bells to the Snowman sled too.

The best part? The only thing I had to buy for this project was some ribbon!  Everything else was crafty supplies I had on hand!

Now my porch is looking quite pretty for the season!
